Curse you, Halloween!

It's Fall here meaning chilly temps, falling leaves, raking leaves, and the beginning of the end of holiday overeating.

This was going to be my year. I was going to buy my Trunk or Treat & Halloween candy in advance and NOT eat any of it. I couldn't do it. I stashed it outside in the garage and tried to forget about it. I did pretty good, but couldn't hold out. On the day of Trunk or Treat (Wed) I caved. The chocolatey carmel Twix bars were calling my name. Why on earth I only buy the stuff I like to eat is beyond me. Even though I had my pre Trick or Treat goodies, I did not eat a whole bag of anything, and that makes me a winner.

Trunk or Treat was Wednesday and it was chilly but beautiful.  Last night we could have been trick or treating in San Diego.  It was probably in the 60s, I wore flip flops and not one kid needed a coat over their costume.  Owen was so cute.  I wish I had him on video running from house to house with all the girls.  At each house he'd say, "Trick or Treat!," but as the night wore on it turned into, "Do you have CANDY?"  He'd turn around and run to the next house yelling, "Gotta get MORE candy!"  Our neighborhood is really hilly and I can't believe he didn't face plant once.

Karl, could you please bring your drill at Christmas and fill all our cavities?

P.S. For those of you keeping track of the trip fund, Gas is <$2 a gallon in Iowa :-)

I'm tracking it, baby!

Great costumes. What's Trunk or Treat? Is that an Iowa thing or am I just stupid?

I think I figured out why the kids bring home jawbreakers and Mike & Ike's -- it's non-Ugly Moms buying stuff they don't like so they won't eat it. Weak, silly women. At least when we break down and eat our candy we like it!

Love the Little Red Riding Hood costume. Love them all, but that one is my winner pick. Of course you made it, right?
Pictures are coming, pictures are coming!
I've been keeping track of your trip fund, too! Yay!

awesome costumes! Loved 'em all! And I'm so totally Jelly (jealous, for those of you who don't know how to speak cool) that Taylor had a wicked partay to attend. And that you had Twix. Yum.
