End of DAY 3
She did it! She just called and she finished, every mile, every step. Only 5 on the team were able to do the whole thing, but they are all done. Yvonne walked 6 miles each day, but is probably going to need a lot of time to rest and recover as it was very difficult for her. Deb had a burst of energy at the end and was able to run across the finish line. Nearly a year's worth of preparation paid off and she feels pretty good, though she's afraid to take off her shoes.


END OF DAY 2
Deb finished all 20 miles yesterday, but was feeling every mile. Many on her team ended up taking the shuttle back to camp and did not complete all 20 miles. I'm not sure how much Yvonne walked, it sounds like she's not doing well. Today is the final day and I'm sure it will be physically and emotionally draining for Deb and her team. Please keep her in your prayers and continue sending good thoughts and messages her way.

In honor of Deb, since she loves the Hawkeyes so much, I went to the Iowa/Wisconsin game on Saturday. I wore a pink Hawkeye hat with some sweet super artistic drawn on Breast Cancer Awareness ribbons and a "Go Deb!" The stadium rallied for a wave just for Deb (warning: if you have motion sickness tendencies do not watch the video clip)






END OF DAY 1
I just talked to Deb and she's doing great. Day one is a wrap, 20 miles down, 40 to go. She sounds really good and all toenails (sorry Christy) are in tact and she's blister free. She is so appreciative of all the texts and voice mails wishing her well. She's totally feeling our love and support from far away. She needs to conserve her cell phone battery, but keep the good thoughts, cheers, odes, songs and prayers coming. Email her your original literary masterpieces for her scrapbook, too.

The best news of the day is that Yvonne was able to walk SIX MILES!
