Beware of singing Wal Mart checkers

imgres.jpg

I really don't like Wal Mart.  Not that I don't shop there, but it's just never a pleasurable shopping experience.  Today was no exception.  I needed fruit, soap and a gift for Taylor's friend who is 14 today and wanted kitchen tools.  It was busy.  Wal Mart is always busy.  There weren't enough check-out lines open.  Again, there are never enough check-out lines open.  I wasn't even going to kid myself that I could manage to use the self check-out lane.  I'm always fooled into thinking that I can handle it.  But I can't.  Alarms always go off.  Workers that hold the keys are always required to undo my self check mistakes.  So, I stuck to the regular lanes.  I actually picked the one with the singing checker.  She seemed happy to be there.  Giddy almost with her constant hum-singing. Anyone who is singing in Wal Mart most likely has issues.  I think at least 65 people got out of the store faster than me.  On the bright side, I did not have any whining, screaming, tantrum throwing kiddos in line with me (mine or anyone else's).

Ah, Wal-Mart. I can guarantee you that when I worked there, I never sang at the check out counter. I was usually trying to hold back the anger that I wanted to unleash on ridiculous customers who wanted to berate me for enforcing Wal-Marts' policy of paying for electronic goods IN the electronics department. They don't have that policy anymore, and I'm pretty sure I know why. I don't go to Wal-Mart anymore, mostly because at the Harrisburg Wal-Mart there have been multiple shootings and stabbings. IN THE STORE. So just be grateful you don't have that to deal with. It's a total mood killer (and an actual, physical, people killer too, now that I think about it...)

Nice, Lylla. I'm SO GLAD I don't live near YOUR walmart.
Anyway, Sara...I share your feelings about Walmart, but I end up shopping their a lot due to my Nazi-level cheapness. They DO have the lowest prices in our town for a lot of things...I try to just grin and bear it.
However, the day will come that I won't have to shop there anymore. Chase and I have always said we'll know we have made it when we no longer have to shop at walmart.
