Help!

With my, ahem, training underway, I realized this week that my iPod selections are quite weak.  Jerry's shuffle is completely out of the question.  I don't know what all he had on there, but it's not peppy enough for me.  Very mellow instrumentals.  Anyway, I usually take Taylor's iPod which is mostly Disney Jams, Hannah Montana, JoJo, etc, but she also has all the Josh Grobin albums on it, and while I'm down with JG, he's not five-mile-run kind of material.

So, I need your help people to compile a list of great tunes for running.  I need some inspiration. Let me have it.  Artist and song, please.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Eye of the tiger, baby! :)
It's my favorite to get me up the hills.

Gotta Get Through This by Daniel Benningfield...it totally works as you are nearing the end of your fourth mile and don't think you can "get through this"

Good luck!

Try some of the podcasts out there. When I'm running, I listen to Fitness Rocks, which is a podcast about health, and Phedippidations, which is a podcast about running. They are both listed on iTunes. Have fun!

Ok, I just looked at my ipod. Apparently, I listen to a lot of Hoobastank, it's about half of what I have on my "gym" playlist. I also like Dave Matthews' faster stuff. Also, Red Hot Chili Peppers does it for me. But I think I might have weird taste in music. I don't know...

Do Something by Britney Spears.. I know this sounds lame but this song is the only song that pumps me up when I start lagging during a run... and it works everytime... you will not regret it! Oh, and HI by the way :) Glad to finally get time to look at your cute blog! APRIL

My old favorite running tape (yes, cassette tape - wish I still had it) had a bunch of 80's hits on it. A couple that I remember off-hand are Whip It by Devo, and Tainted Love by Soft Cell. I think that if you mine your collection of 80's and early 90's stuff (Erasure, anyone???) you'll find a bunch of music with the right up-tempo beat for running...

I'm with Chrysta - my old running tapes are all '80s stuff. I also had Tainted Love on there. I don't really groove to big Dance Party stuff, I just need a great beat. And Kathy mentioned Eye of the Tiger - that gets the whole family pumped!
