I love Fall in Iowa. It always comes and goes so quickly, but for the 2 to 3 weeks that it really feels like Fall, it's beautiful. I still miss the 100 year old maples that lined the street where I grew up in PA. They were brilliantly red and yellow. Most of the oaks around our house turn golden brown, which is pretty, too, but I will always remember the one red and one gold maple trees that were outside my bedroom window.
The pictures are from our walk this Sunday. The weather was practically perfect this weekend. The forest that surrounds our house has lots of Golden Maples. When I was little my dad used to take rolls and rolls of film of trees and leaves. I thought he was crazy. Now I get it. There is so much beauty that surrounds us.
I hate knowing that winter is just around the corner and all the color will be drained from the landscape here. I don't like winter in Iowa and it comes and stays and stays and stays.
Happy Halloween! Last night was trunk or treat at church. The kids were all done up, Taylor went as a rock star, but I don't think I took any pictures of her.
Here's Jerry and I as Mr. and Mrs. Incredible.
Owen quarterbacking for the Hawks. He said, "Go, Gok-eyes" for the first time yesterday.
Gaby cheering for the Hawks.
Lydi as a pumpkin.
And our jack-o-lanterns we carved on Monday night.

Beautiful pictures. I miss FALL...boo hooo.
Have fun tonight!
Isn't fall the greatest? After being in So. Cal for so long, it is SOOOO fun to see the leaves change. Your kids are darling. Love the one of all of them on your walk.
great pictures!! your kids are fabulous!!
So I hear you're moving to Mexico. Is that because of Iowa weather, or is it because Jerry is wearing his "ugly" sweater too often? Or perhaps it's both... Anyway....
wrong Sara :-)
Oh... my bad. Well Mexico does sound nice... doesn't it?
So where are the pictures of Miss Teen Iowa, Taylor? How did Opus go? Why am I on the computer when my butt really hurts??????
