{Insert witty comeback post title here}

It's shark week! And it's Gaby's birthday week! Yay!

It's 3 weeks until school starts! And 3 days until Gaby gets her tonsils and adenoids out! Boo!

I made this very cool collage using a photoshop template of my very talented friend (who also happened to take Taylor's first round of not-a-senior Senior pictures last week (and they are super cute (but not super-cute like the ditzy airline attendant from that What Not to Wear episode with all the bows and polka dots and fake hair))).

Lydia and Gaby competed in their first ever triathlon last Saturday.  It was awesome.  It was hot.  I am so proud of both of them.  The weekend before that they both competed in the All City Swim Meet and each earned a ribbon for relay events.  Gaby only DQ’d once in the breast stroke, so it was a success.  Their team won the meet for the first time ever.  I helped coach again this year and taught these two to swim.  I can’t tell you how good that makes me feel.

Jerry and I both became certified lifeguards again.  Our masters’ swim team is trying to help the city out by volunteer guarding at city pools in an effort to keep them open longer.  I hope to maybe teach swimming lessons this fall while the kids are in school, too.

Taylor got a job!  No, she got TWO jobs!  She spent a little over a week detasseling corn during our heat wave of 105-110 days.  I’m so proud of her for sticking with it.  And now she’s working at our local grocery store.  She’ll be applying to BYU soon.  Sigh.

Grandma and Grandpa were here for a week!  There was much fun to be had.  Nauvoo pageant, Dubuque, golf, food, Apples to Apples (if you ask Grandma about spiritual cold pizza make sure you have oxygen handy), walks, shopping, lounging, triathloning, eating, baptizing.  It was pretty stellar.

I may post loads more pictures of our goings on, or I may not.  It’s taken me 4 months to remember I even have a blog, so there’s no telling when I may be back.

P.S. I'm sure you will breathe a sigh of relief when you make it through all of this stuff. Boy have you had a busy one. And I thought I was busy. :)
