Lydia's "Lab"

Lydia is a creator.  She's a tinkerer.  Also too, she is very curious and inventive.  She makes all kinds of awesome creations using things from nature like leaves, twigs, acorns, etc.  She made Anna a Nature Girl doll.  She made her wedding bubbles a wedding bubble cozy.  She made an apartment with a fully stocked kitchen of acorns for the local squirrels.  She is also known to make fascinating inventions that serve a higher purpose only her mind can see.  Most of these inventions involve a lot of hangers and belts and string and/or binder clips, paper clips and straps like this:

 

             

 

 

When we went to Louisville for the Ironman, dear friends Ben and Jill came to stay with the kids.  Jerry was explaining to Ben that our kids are like hamsters that burrow and make nests in their beds to sleep.  Gaby usually has a vast assortment of stuffed animals and blankets and me-me's and books.  Lydia sleeps on the top bunk amid tangles of big fluffy blankets and Snuggie and Rascal.  Her nightlight  burned out, so last night I climbed up the ladder to replace it and when I moved the swath of blankets, pillows and stuffed animals this is what I found:
