We went to a local apple orchard to pick apples today. It was so fun. The couple that owns and operates this orchard is about the cutest thing ever. Meet Morris and Diane Allen here. Today Morris was wearing an apple print shirt and I wish I would have taken his picture. Not anything like a turtle.
The kids were way into it and with each kid frantically picking we quickly amassed many pounds of apples. 35 to be exact. But at $1.00/pound it's a great deal.
The kids also visited with the goats and chickens. One goat got frisky and tried to take a bite out of Jerry's elbow. It was a beautiful day. Of course, being novice apple pickers, we had no idea what we were doing. When we got home I tried (am still trying) to sort the different varieties.
I made applesauce out of the Jonathan apples. It's like ice cream, seriously, but not cold or fattening. Owen may or may not have to pee in this picture and he may or may not have peed on a non apple tree at the orchard.

Things that make me happy (in order of most happy to also most happy):
The use of may or may not.
The pic of Lyd eating that apple. AWESOME.
Tay's face in that picture. What gives?
The Twilight homage. Oh, Sara. You slay me.
Also too, I'm a big fan of Gaby's matching pants and hair accessory.
Yes, indeed. Gaby is all about accessorizing, just like her literary BFF Fancy Nancy. Where this girlie girl came from I have no idea. We went to Nana's a couple weeks ago and she stepped in the van as Gaby with a purse. She stepped out of the van as modern day Tammy Faye even sporting her fake pink hair streak and jewels. That purse has got magic in it, I tell you. Also too, Gaby is signed up for her first cheerleading 'camp' next month. The girls may be deaf-ish, but she's got a set a pipes, fo' sho'
Great pics! Apple sauce ice cream, now THAT'S something I'd like to try!
I'm so glad you went. They are such a cute couple! It is so easy to pick large quantities of apples in 20 minutes. Apparently we should all be professional apple pickers. I totally missed the Twilight homage. And I'm sure a little Owen pee added a bit of added nutrients to the soil:)
P.S. Your UMC button is looking HAWT!
thanks for noticin'
I, also too, appreciate the Twilight homage. The hands are even correctly overlapping! Way to go Tay:D
