When it rains it pours. We've been working towards having a usable backyard since last year. Remember when I joked about how we would maybe finish by the first snow. Ha! I should never give us that much credit, to actually complete a project in one, no make that two seasons. We worked ALL day Saturday and most of the day Monday after our race. Jerry had Tuesday off and we thought that the sod farm needed 24 hours notice for our order of special shade blend grass, but when he called around 10 they said they could do it, so we went into high gear. A truck was borrowed, THANKS TERRY! 3 loads of top soil were delivered. 2 trips to the dump were made, along with 2 trips for sod - the first 1,000 of 3,000 sq ft. Jerry arrived with sod just as friends Carrie and Neil and their 6 kids showed up. After a quick dinner the 4 adults were out in the pouring rain laying the rest of the sod. I wish I had a picture of how filthy we were. Hopefully this Friday and Saturday we'll finish the job.

Upper retaining wall will connect to the one around the a/c unit. Ferns and hostas will fill it in.
Only 2,000 sq ft more to go...

Gasp! It looks awesome, Sara! I love those retaining walls. They're stellar.
Enjoy having grass. It looks so luxurious!
I'm impressed. Do you guys hire yourselves out? My backyard needs some work...LOL.
It looks Great, hopefully you'll be finished and able to enjoy it soon.
woooooooooow, that is AWESOME!!!
Lookes AWESOME! Maybe you guys could start a little business!
Square feet are evil. If I never see another square foot again it will be too soon. GAH!
But I do like your sod. And your wall block. And what you did with aforementioned sod and wall block.
I'm wondering if there is some way to rig up the new jumpy thing so that in the winter it is incorporated into the Stairway Sledding Chute. I'm thinking when you shoot down the chute, at the end you hit the trampoline and it bounces you back to the top of the deck for another run down the steps. Sort of like a ski lift, Jerry-style. I think I'm on to something...
Tammy - our motto would have to be something like, "We'll get it done... eventually."
Wow--y'all can literally move mountains:) Carrie and Neal are true friends. Looks great!
