I know you are a DEB and that's Bed spelled backwards, and you prefer Debbie and Aunt Dumb to Deborah, BUT it worked with the song, so please forgive me.
My SIL Deb is currently walking in the Breast Cancer 3 Day in Philadelphia Pee Yay. Starting Friday she will walk 60 miles over three days. She is walking in honor of and along side her friend Yvonne, who is miraculously well enough to be walking a few miles each day. Deb raised over $4,300 to help find a cure for breast cancer. She's funny, tough, smart and I'm lucky to have her as my sister. If you want to give her props, head on over to her blog.
Taylor and I sang this ditty for Deb's cell and home voicemail, because we needed an encore performance! Thanks Anna for helping tweak the lyrics a bit. Play the YouTube video for our backup instrumentals (no we did not record a music video).
Hey there Deborah
What’s it like in Philadelphia
I’m a thousand miles away but girl, tonight you look so sweaty
Yes, you do
Chase Utley can’t shine as bright as you
I swear it’s true.
Hey there Deborah
Don’t you worry about the distance
We’re right here if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close you eyes
Listen to our voices, its our surprise
We’re by your side.
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Only 60 miles.
Hey there Deborah
I know miles are getting hard
Your poor feet are getting blisters, cause you’re walking very far
oh yes it’s true
my pretty feet don’t envy you
Just your Bissell Steam Mop also, too.
Hey there Deborah we’ve got so much left to say
if every simple song we wrote for you would give you strength to stay
upon your path
you don’t even have to ask
Go Kick Cancer’s Trash!
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
60 miles seems pretty far but they’ve got planes and trains and cars
but you know you have got no other way
you’ll walk whether you want or not, if you get cold if you get hot
We know that you can make all three days
Deb I can promise you
That by the time that you get through
There will be no skin left upon your heels
How do you feel?
Hey there Deborah
tonight you’ll be sleeping soundly
even if you’re in a tent and layin’ on the ground
ooh
just close your mouth, try not to drool
You can do whatever you want to
Hey there Deborah here’s to you
This one’s for you
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Oh, it’s only 60 miles
Only 60 miles.

Brilliant!
Lub it! Fantastico!
Great great lyrics. I feel very amazed and outdone. I hope Deborah loved it. I know she did. Wow. Amazing.
