What about Bob?

Lydia's Brownie troop went on a fieldtrip to BABW (Build a Bear Workshop) a couple weeks ago to spend their hard earned cookie sales money. She made a turtle. He's really cute. And his name is Bob.

At dinner a few nights ago, Jerry and I were talking about work stuff and got on the subject of his boss, whose name is... Bob. Lydia thought this was really cool and decided she wanted Bob the Turtle to be a Boss, too. She set about making him his own workspace in her room, complete with desk and cube-like walls (it's in a laundry basket).

Since Labor Day was yesterday, Bob had the day off, just like everyone else, so today was Bob's first day of work. As Jerry left for work, Lydia asked, "Dad, what do you do at work all day?" He replied, "I work on my computer." ...Hmmm... Lydia's wheels are spinning.... "Dad, when you write on paper at work, what do you write?" Dad, "Um, math problems."

After getting the kids to school, I decided to drop in and see how Bob's first day was going. Lydia is one funny, funny kid.

Bob at his desk with his state of the art laptop. He really should talk to someone
about getting an ergonomic chair; his back is going to be hurtin.'

Bob solving all the world's engineering woes.

Bob's had a long day, I don't think he has a long commute, but he doesn't get very good mileage.

That girl is, in Anna's words, hi-freakin-larious. She needs her own show...

That's awesome! My little Rylan (6 1/2) comes up with crazy stuff like that all the time.

She is currently working on the trophies for her "cat Olympics" in her bedroom, but has already made the list of events: chasing the string while it wiggles side to side; chasing the string while it wiggles up and down; chasing the string as it circles like a lasso. Those cats had better bring their A-game.

I wonder what these two would come up with if they were in the same room for an afternoon?

P.S. I'll keep up the good fight with Chrysta -- with my constant nagging and Mom Kilgore's motherly influence, we'll help her see the light. This is my pledge.

Nicole, Anna's the Dem. You're mixing up my home-girls. I don't know why you can't keep it straight with all these people you've never met!

Sorry about my freaky stalker Democrat friend, Sara. Heaven help me, though, I love her to death.

Well now I feel like a giant idiot! I realized what I did and was hoping to get around to correcting myself before someone else did -- but then I remembered Chrysta was in the mix and there was no way she would let this slide...
