"Update your blog... or else!"

No one could possibly be so interested in our family's misadventures to warrant a threat, but I was called to repentance. There must be a new commandment about continually updating blogs somewhere, possibly in the footnotes. I'll have to read my scriptures more thoroughly, or like Deb, at least read my dictionary. I honestly have tried several times in the past 3 weeks, as Anna pointed out, to update my blog. I have been seriously lacking in inspiration and material. The bar for blogging has been set pretty high, so I guess I'm having blog-envy, for lack of a better term.

While I haven't spent my time blogging, I have spent a significant amount of time and dinero at Dr. Booth's office. Dr. Booth is our family doc. He's as sick of seeing us as we are of seeing him. He's a great guy, though, really.

In a previous blog, I mentioned Owen being sick. He had pink eye and bronchitis - I'd like to say that's what started it all, but we've been sick on and off since last year, so I can't blame the boy. A week after his junk, he turned one and had his well baby check up (ironically the one time in the past month that he was well). By the end of the week, Gaby had a wart that HAD to be removed. The compound W just wasn't cutting it and she liked to show her wart (she pronounces it more like wert) to everyone. Kinda gross. So that got frozen off. No tears. Not a one. She was incredible.

So, at this point, I have been sick for a couple weeks. By Tuesday, it's back to Dr. Booth. Drugs for me, yea! Zithromax AND Allegra D - love it! So, I'm stoked that I'm going to be on the road to recovery. After Owen's afternoon nap that same day, he starts throwing up and doesn't stop for a week.

So, we got through that OK. He slept a lot and probably lost a pound or two of chub. Now he's back to eating everything in sight. But that's not all. Lydi woke up a few nights ago with an earache. After a second sleepless night, we went to see, you guessed it, Dr. Booth. She is now on antibiotics, too. Gaby has remained surprisingly healthy through all of this, but insists on tagging along every time we go see Doca Boof (that's what she used to call him). And Taylor missed school yesterday, just for good measure. Fatigue, mysterious illness, phobia who knows.

It's also that time of year for eye doctor appointments and visits to the dentist. So, I've been to the eye doctor 3 times in the past month and there's one more next week. And then 4-5 trips to the dentist. Thankfully, Taylor got her braces off and got the OK to wear her retainer only at night, so the monthly trips to the ortho are done. Needless to say, my FSA is presumably maxed out this year and it's only May.

On a much more fun note. Owen's vocabulary is growing. Ball. Ball. Ball! Ball! Mum and DaDa, of course. His all-time favorite word is No! and No? This week he started saying Bye-Bye with a twisty wrist wave thing. Gaby is Gaby, Ay-a is Taylor and E-ya is Lydia. And daa for Dog, can't forget Max. He says Nana for both his Nana and bananas. He also has funny words he repeats over and over again, but I have no idea what he's talking about. Bwhee-a, Bwhee-a, Bwhee-a comes to mind. With Gaby it was schlega, schlega. Now all she talks and sings about is toots.

Ok, I think you've had enough. Adios.

Okay, okay, so you're forgiven! I'm so glad to see you back in the blog-o-sphere. And you're right if you check the footnotes REALLY closely you'll see that new blogging commandment. But it's only in the NEW scriptures, so you have to buy new ones. And I'm not telling you what page it's on. You just have to read them all to find out.
We're SO sorry to hear about the sickies. Now I don't feel so bad about having morning (afternoon, night) sickness! But it looks like Owen is doing his best to keep Doca Boof away. I can't even believe how big Gaby is.
Less than three months to go...
