Whoa Nellie!

Greetings all! Big news at the Kilgore house. We have dining room furniture! I'm just giddy.

First, I must thank my SIL Christy. I got up on Tuesday at 5 for my morning swim, drove my tired self to the pool, only to find that the opener person for the day hit snooze one too many times and was a no show. I was wide awake at this point, and decided I would instead go for a run when I got home. Since it was still dark outside, I opted to do my daily check of the blogs (none were updated). But seeing Christy's swing set that she found on Craig's List made me think, hmmm, I wonder what on Craig's List in CR.

I checked it out and found a 12 piece antique dining room set for a big time bargain (built in 1929, owned by one family over 3 generations). It was love at first sight, though I knew it was going to be a tough sell to get Jerry on board. I emailed the lady and SIL Deb for advice. Jerry was in California and Texas all week. I had emailed him the pictures, and he was less than impressed. As if that was any big surprise, but to his credit, he did agree to go see it.

I thought all was lost, since I'm not known to ever win arguments that involve spending money, even if it is a "great deal." We saw it on Friday and Jerry was actually impressed with the quality and shape it was in and said, "it's up to you." So I quickly wrote the check and handed it to Jean before he could change his mind.

Not that anyone cares about my recently acquired furniture, but most of you know that we have a big house with some empty rooms, so this is a big thrill. So, you're all invited for dinner. The more the merrier and it will give Jerry a chance to point out once again how small the table is.
