I'll spare you the gory pictures, but our poor boy is sick. He woke up this morning looking like he'd either been a fight or had one too many drinks at the bar, or a combination of both. Giving him eye drops is a real treat, but he's already starting to look better. Conjunctivitis and Bronchitis. Amazingly as he got sicker over the weekend he started sleeping better.
I'm so grateful for modern medicine. I've been reading this series of books about pioneers settling in the Dakota Territories and all the hardships they face. During one winter a little boy gets pneumonia or consumption or whatever they called it then and the remedy was molasses. I actually considered giving him molasses on Sunday when he got worse and worse and the cough medicine(s)/tylenol/motrin cocktail didn't seem to be having any effect.
The Zithromax and eyedrops will work wonders in the next day or so.
Jerry left today for Santa Clara, CA and then on to Dallas, where he'll get to see the Rawlins crew, lucky guy. He's racked up quite a few frequent flier miles, so at least there's a glimmer of a silver lining in all the travel over the past year. The good news is that finally after 6 months, he's replaced himself in his old position at Rockwell, the one that causes 90% of his travel.
In Jerry's absence, I had to coach Lydia's first soccer game of the season. 5-6 years old girls playing soccer is so entertaining. Last week is snowed and all games were canceled and today it's 76 and sunny. Go figure. Hopefully Spring is here to stay.
I have no witty lyrics to entertain you with, but perhaps Alyssa's class could create a Kilgore family theme song for the upcoming reunion???
