The Kilgores: doing things the hard way since 1994

I haven't written in awhile, since nothing blog-worthy has occurred. I think I'm suffering from the winter doldrums a bit, so nothing really seems all that funny to me ever.

Owen will be 9 months old on Friday and he finally has teeth - they all came at once. 2 on top and 2 on bottom. He continues to be kick-back, and while he can be quite the mama's boy, he's pretty chill all the time. He's taking after his sister Gaby (NOT good!) and has mastered stair climbing. I often find him on the landing looking down at the piano (no falls, yet :-)) The door to the laundry room is opposite the stairs, so he comes to a crossroad each time he scoots down the hallway... climb the stairs OR eat Max's dog food. Today he ate dog food at least 3 times. Gross, I know. He didn't ingest any, but it's still disgusting.

As you know, Jerry and I swim with a Master's club here in CR. The group is really fun and they do all kinds of crazy stuff. The latest is a Greed Diet, you pay $$, weigh in on a certain date, lose weight, weigh in on a certain date in the future and whoever lost the most weight gets all the $$$. The guy organizing has the fancy schmancy scale he uses for this purpose. It tells you weight, % body fat, % water weight, etc. The best stat is your metabolic age. I have no idea how exactly it measures this, but it does. I wasn't there on Saturday when the weigh in took place, but Jerry was. His metabolic age...13! And it also said that for him to MAINTAIN is current body weight, he needs to eat >4,500 calories per day.

Alyssa - you and Jerry are carved from the same mold. This proves Anna and my fudge eating theory. 'Nuf said.
