I will be so happy when Owen outgrows this beautiful thing we call reflux. Today in an effort to get Lydi to school and on time for her field trip, I became the human burp rag. While Cameron, my nephew, may have terrible aim, Owen is amazingly accurate in not hitting the burp rag, or towel, or blanket, 100% of the time.
We were frantcially suiting up with coats and hats, yes, winter seems to have come early this year, Owen let loose down my back, missing the blanket draped over my shoulder completely. Most of it drenched my jeans, some even making it into my shoe. As I'm looking over my shoulder at the carnage, he turns and spews all down the front of my shirt completing the look.
A complete change of clothes was required and we got to school after the bell, but before the departure to the pumpkin patch.
I LOVE mornings, especially since neither of my school-aged children get bussed to either of their respective schools which lie in completely opposite directions of our home which start and end at different times.

Still, ugh? Poor Owen and mommy!
Getting ready in the morning is indeed the pits. All I seem to be able to say is GET YOUR SHOES ON over and over and over... At least we do get to ride the bus.
Oh yes...reflux. Not such a distant memory for us. In fact one that will stay with me, acting as just ONE of the many forms of non physical means of birth control!!! LOL
See, having just been there I don't have any feelings of "Poor Owen" mainly because I've seen the look of pure satisfaction on his face after just such an episode. You can see he's thinking, "Boy, that felt great. I can't wait to eat more." So I think it's just "poor Mommy" in this case.
Yeah, I'm definately going to make sure we're able to get the kids on the bus when we buy a house.
Sorry about the whole "pee-in-the-bed-and-get-revenge" thing that Cam somehow taught Gaby. I hope their time together in the future is spent influencing each other for good. Though, maybe their time will never be used for good. Instead of being the next Jonas Saulk and Madame Curie they are more likely to be the next bonnie and clyde. Perhaps it's a good thing we're moving to Texas. These two probably need more states in between them.
