HAPPY HALLOWEEN! The three littlest Kilgores were a Wizard of Oz trio. Big sis Taylor was supposed to be the Wicked Witch of the West, but my creative juices were not flowing and Halloween arrived all too early, so no WWW. She opted to go as a "Queen-who-woke-up-late-for-the-ball" The pictures will post later (they're on Nana's cam).
Owen began his day with his 6 month check-up and 4 shots. So me putting him in his lion costume a various times today, did not go over that well. I'm grateful there is at least one picture of him smiling in it. $14.95 well spent, he's the cutest lion I've ever seen.
I'm one of Lydi's classroom moms, so the afternoon was spent catering a Halloween party to 23 kindergateners. The best was helping kids into their costumes. Note to parents: never send your child to school with a costume he/she has never tried on OR at least explain to your child that the costume which cost $8.98 at Wal Mart may not necessarily look the same out of the bag as it does on the picture on the bag. One little girl's spider witch costume came with fake spider webbing that you were supposed to string across the dress. Yah right. She ended up having one string across her should and then carried the rest looking like a big wad of cotton.
We quickly ran home to start dinner. Another trip to the store for Halloween replacement candy, which was completely picked over. There was Christmas candy and Lemonheads. This trip was pointless as we got maybe 4 trick-or-treaters.
It was pretty cold, so the kids didn't last long. The time change has my body clock out of whack. It felt like we'd been out for hours, only to find it was 6:30 when I got home with Owen. Jerry's out of town, so thankfully my mom was here to help with crowd control (meaning my own kids).
Hope everyone is enjoying their kids' Halloween candy while reading this.
