Happy Birthday Monka!

 

We celebrated Monka’s 64th birthday at Three Samurai in Coralville.  The kids loved the show that our chef put on.  Jerry gave lessons in proper chopstick use.  Owen picked it up quickly and ate his whole dinner with chopsticks. 

Owen did not like the sushi.

But he liked the fire.

Lydia was an egg cracking superstar.

As was Owen.

Gaby and Taylor, not so much.

     

I had told the kids that they throw food at you at this restaurant and you have to catch it in your mouth.  All the times I’ve eaten at places like this, the chef makes everyone at the table try to catch a piece of broccoli in their mouth.  So, when the chef started flinging eggs onto the kids plates, Owen was like, “Hey, I wasn’t ready!!!”  He wanted to catch it in his mouth, but the guy was aiming for his plate.
