I think I need to write a letter to the creators of "Life" on the Discovery Channel. The series is simply amazing. But more amazing is the hilarity of comments from my youngest kids.

{Spoiler alert} This clip is of Darwin's Beetle. He has a long climb into the treetops to find his mate. Along the way he tosses his foes off the tree. After all that hard work he finds his lady friend who isn't really so impressed with his studliness. He finally wins her over only to toss her off the tree. Gaby says (prior to the tossing), "What is he doing?!?!?" Lydia responds, "Oh, she wasn't interested."
There's another mating scene where damselflies get connected. When the mom-to-be lays her eggs underwater, Owen shouts in amazement, "Is she pooping out her eggs?!?!?!" Which led to songs and other anecdotes about pooping things out of our bodies.
And finally on a seemingly unrelated note, I watched the movie Hachi with Owen on Saturday. Lydia usually doesn't do well with animal movies because she's so sensitive to their feelings. Humans, not so much. Hachi was a sad movie, so I was glad she didn't see it. Sunday morning she came downstairs as we were getting ready to leave for church and said, "Did you and Owen watch that movie, 'Hoochie,' yesterday?"

First of all, Hoochie is a really good movie. You should check it out.
Second of all, I want Lydia to move in with me yesterday.
Third of all, I apparently need to get cable so I can watch that show.
With Lydia.
When she gets here.
Ahhh, yes, Hoochie, The Movie. It's one of my all time favorites. You make me want to watch more TV.
