For the first time in years, 6 to be exact, Jerry and I went to church together. He's always had callings requiring him to be at church early, so we always take separate cars. Last week he was released as EQ President, so while he completely threw me off my Sunday morning grove (which typically involves a lot of yelling and rushing), we had the opportunity to drive to church in one vehicle. So when we left church and I wasn't driving I wasn't aware that I was leaving my keys at church. I scoured the building on Tuesday morning with a stinky 2 year old in tow. Looked high, looked low, checked lost and found, cleaned out the YW closet, proceeded to call everyone I knew in the 3 wards that use the building, still no keys. Church keys, house keys, car keys, unlocker do-hicky for the car, Thule key. I don't keep them separate for fear of losing them. Ha.
Tonight I looked again during YW and I FOUND THEM! It's like I got a pony for Christmas. I did a dance. I showed them off. I promised to never leave them behind again.
I'm beginning to see a bit of a pattern with me and my car. It's not good. I can no longer claim to be a good driver after all the backing into things I've done. I can no longer claim a clean record thanks to last year's speeding ticket. I have locked my keys in my car on s-e-v-e-r-a-l occasions. Once with baby Lydia inside. Once with baby Mason inside and the car running (that was actually Deb's doing, but my Mercury Mystique was possessed and I forgot to tell her about it). I lost and never recovered a set of keys to our first van, too. Not good.
But today is a good day, because I found my keys.

I vividly remember locking my baby in the car. Good times. Hooray for finding your keys, yet we recognize and mourn your blemished vehicular record. I'm thinking it's time for public transportation, like the old people bus.
CONGRATS!! I'm sure your YW appreciated the dance. I dance for my YW all the time!! And as for your blog below: GABY IS SUCH A NUT!!! What four year old carries around tape, bandaids and tums?? She's such a goofball, and I love it!!
I am with you sister. I LOVE FINDING STUFF! It's just an amazing, joyous feeling. Euphoric, in fact.
For me, I've only locked my keys in the car once. It was awful and has made me super paranoid. I need to get one of those cars that have a detector so they can start as long as the key is IN the car (there's no ignition). Then I will just have the key implanted in my leg (or butt, there's LOTS of extra room there).
