Lydia's Self Portrait

I thought this was really cute.

Of course, even kindergarten art work has become commercialized. We got this painting she did in art class in an envelope last week with an order form. For a small fee (actually a large one), you can buy products like mugs and t-shirts, etc. with your child's artwork on it.

I just love the painting, a keeper for sure.

We leave for PA in 5 days. Unfortunately, Jerry is out of town this week and we'll (kids and I) be gone next week, then it's two more weeks of Jerry traveling. At least he's not in POW training, but he will be in contract negotiations, which may actually be somewhat similar.

I would totally order a t-shirt. Hmmm...maybe Lydi can be the designer of our family reunion t-shirts. She's got some mad Picasso-esque "blue period" skills.

p.s. I don't actually know anything about art, picasso, or the color blue. I just thought that sounded like a funny thing to say...

Too cute and yet depressing at the same time... wierd that the school is basically acting as an advertiser. Ick. But - it's a wicked awesome painting anyway. She looks a bit like Uma Thurman, don't ya think?

P.S. I threw that Uma Thurman comment in there just so I could add a "P.S" like Anna. Because I'm not really sure who Uma Thurman is, or what she really looks like, except for that she's blonde. I just wanted to sound funny like Anna, because she's my hero:)
