Have you ever seen the movie "Ice Age?"


Jerry started working on the hot tub yesterday and forgot to put the cover back on. So this morning he said to me, "Hey want to go ice skating?" The top of the water had frozen. So then, Jerry went down to continue to "fix" the hot tub, only to return minutes later, laughing and telling me to go down and have a look.

In what appears to be a hunting and gathering mission gone awry, this poor squirrel met his demise in our hot tub last night. The pictures don't do justice to how funny this really looked. The little critter was just sitting straight up at the bottom, his bushy tail sticking straight out behind him. Hopefully he didn't suffer too much.

My best guess is that he was trying to walk across when the ice gave way. Can squirrels swim? Based on the evidence I've seen, I would say no. Perhaps it's something the species should look into.
