Not your mother's show choir

Not that I was in show choir, but forget jazz hands. Show Choir in Iowa is serious, serious business and Taylor kicks off her season with their first competition tomorrow morning. Their show is pretty good for freshman. Taylor is very expressive and fun to watch on stage. I'm having some difficulty getting the files converted. I'm using a trial version of software, so there are watermarks across the screen. Sorry about that. I also filmed the prep (10-11 graders) and varsity choirs for Kennedy and will try to post them, so you can see the level of skill these kids have.

Taylor's group is called Chanteurs. For their show they perform: A Great Escape by Boys Like Girls, Good Riddance by Green Day, Linkin Park medley of In the End and Numb, and their closer Count Your Blessings. Their show is more contemporary and the costumes reflect that. You'll see that the prep and varsity choirs have more complex costuming and props, lots of props.

Oh, hooray! Hey Taylor, that was TIGHT! (Did I use that correctly in a sentence?)

I am always astounded that each time you post a photo or vid of Ta-May-May, she keeps looking about 5 years older than she is. Scary. But she's awesome. It's also always a bit strange to me when show choirs do those types of songs in show choir style (Karl's niece and nephew in Atlanta recently did Ozzy's Crazy Train in their program), but they did it well.
