Break a Leg!

Taylor's middle school is doing a "junior" production of Godspell in March. She was cast as a vocalist and will have one or more solos. She's very excited.

On another "Taylor is terrific" note. She auditioned for the Iowa Music Teacher's Association this past Saturday. She had to play three memorized pieces, one classical, one Baroque and one contemporary followed by an intense written theory test. She has never had any theory, so this proved to be difficult. She was rated a "1" which is the highest rating. In order to be considered a winner or alternate for the state competition you must receive a score of 65% or better on the theory test, which Taylor didn't achieve. She was relieved, though, because she hates these three pieces that she's been playing since August, and is thrilled to finally be moving on to something new.
